England international Kieran Trippier has announced his retirement from international duty.

The Newcastle United right-back, who represented his country at three major international tournaments, calls time on his international career at 33 with 54 caps to his name.

Trippier scored England’s opener in their World Cup semi-final against Croatia in 2018, captaining his country three times under Gareth Southgate.

His announcement comes just hours before England interim manager Lee Carsley names his first squad for Nations League games against the Republic of Ireland and Finland.
